Bags, Bags, Bags...

As my previous post mentions I love to listen to podcasts. I listen to various types like tech, science, gadgets, web 2.0, etc. These podcasts a lot of times talk a lot about various types of new gadgets or just gadgets in general. Your mp3 players, portable game systems, laptops...all kinds of stuff. But I've been wondering lately how do these techites carry all of their gadgets around??? No one has yet to talk about it, that I know of, or do any reviews on bags. Do they just carry their gadgets and whatnots in a plastic grocery bag? Do they have pockets big enough to fit everything? Do they get a mediocre backpack from their local wally world or what have you? Do they take the time to research and buy something that fits their needs and buy a high quality product? These questions need to be answered.....please.

I have a financially unhealthy obsession with buying bags. Well about every 6 months or so I get the need to buy a new one or switch it out with one that I have in the closet. So this past week I started looking at buying another one. Right now I'm using a backpack but wanted to switch it up and use a messenger bag. So the 1st one I looked at was the Firefox messenger bag made by Ogio that is sold on the Mozilla Store. Figured I would help support the Firefox cause while carrying all of my junk around. Then I also decided to check out Jinx and see what type of bags they have. They only have a backpack with the Jinx logo also made by Ogio. I thought...hmmmmm, I need to check this Ogio out. So I went to their site and lo and behold they make every type of bag under the sun. Some nice looking ones I might add. So I was just doing research and looking around for the past couple of days. Nothing stood out like this Ogio brand. They looked pretty good so I wanted to stick with them and get one of their bags. One of the stores they sell their merchandise through is ebags. So I also looked on their and just checked out all of their bags to see what they had. I finally ended up getting an Ogio backpack and not the Firefox messenger bag. I told myself in a couple of months I would get it. But I got this backpack which was on sale and had free shipping. It's rated pretty high so I hope I did good. I just really liked the features and the price and didn't want to pass it up.

So what do you do with all of your gadgets???

New Entertainment

There is nothing good on TV anymore. Ok well just a handful of shows. But just about everything else is garbage now. Especially right now when most if not all shows are on hiatus or their season ended. I'm kind of tired of TV anyway. I'd actually like to get rid of cable, but the wife won't allow it. I could easily do without it though. With Netflix a click away I can just rent the shows I want to watch on TV. Some of the major networks even put the shows on their website a day or so after the show airs on TV. What I'd like is the progamming I want, when I want it and how I want it. That's where a new form of entertainment, or digital entertainment comes in.

First is podcasts. I love podcasts, this includes video podcasts as well. Free and you can download anytime and take them with you. How cool is that??? The majority of what I listen to is Tech and Video Game shows. I use Itunes to download these and synch them to my Ipod. Just as a side note, you don't have to have Itunes or an Ipod to listen to podcasts. You can listen to them right on your computer or download them with a program like Juice and listen to them on any other MP3 player. The video podcasts I watch I actually use Democracy player to download and then watch them at my leisure.

Another new form that is raising in popularity is Ustream.tv and Stickam.com. Ustream.tv is incredible. Anyone can go on, host a show, people join in and watch and even chat at the same time. It's great. I watch several tech/gaming shows this way. Ok so these aren't on my time but still it's good entertainment and it's engaging because it's not one sided. It's a conversation. Many people getting together and chatting about a subject(s) they are passionate about. Stickam is similar but it's more of a social networking site. It's like myspace but with video and better looking.

I highly recommend people to check these out and try to look for entertainment from other sources other than the boob tube. Sure there's still some great stuff on regular TV but it get's boring after a while. So do a search for what I've mentioned and enjoy alllll of the great FREE entertainment out there. Enjoy....
